TOPIC: Appreciating Business Advantages and Strategic Capabilities through the
Impact and Benefits of Data Analysis in the Enterprise.

RATIONALE:
Data Analytics is already introduced to us on our previous Monthly Chapter Meeting. On
that session we are taught that focused on the collection of data, inspecting the data
and whether it has one or more usage in general. The underlying processes and the
desired outcomes are also discussed briefly. However, we need to understand that to
completely see competitive advantages and strategically position of any organization
above it’s competitors, we need to complete the whole story from the Data we collected,
cleaned, analyzed, and interpreted to produce concrete recommendations that aids
decision-makers in implementing best-cased scenarios and opportunities.
As we continue to uplift our knowledge and skills, the September 2022 Monthly Chapter
Meeting of IIBA Philippines Chapter give light to the Difference of Data Analysis from
Data Analytics. The question on how both disciplines is similar or related for us to begin
our journey to fully appreciate the opportunities and benefits of Data Analysis to an
organization. It is through this session that it is inevitable for us to perform our role as
Business Analyst without having to do with Data

LEARNING OBJECIVE(S):
At the end of the monthly meeting, participants should be able to:
 Comprehend the underlying concepts and practices in Data Analytics in the
Insurance industry
 Appreciate the journey of a Data Analyst or a Data Scientist in the Insurance
Industry
KEY POINT:
A Business Analyst must understand that for him/her to perform on it’s peak, he/she is
to be able to apply skills and techniques that recommends a probable solution to an
organizational problem or opportunity. Most likely, Data are highly involved in the
process of requirements needed by stakeholders. Data Analysis is an inevitable section
of technology regardless of your role or career disposition, it will help you to
compensate for a better decision-making tool and outcomes. With the correct practice of
Data Analysis in conjunction with the practice of Data Analytics, a Business Analyst
might be able to go beyond the organization’s expectations.
