April Monthly Chapter Meeting

RATIONALE:

This talk provides an introduction to the Philippine Skills Framework (PSF) Initiative , which involves the creation of PSFs for industries and cross-sector functions.  This initiative is in line with preparing the Filipino workforce for Industry 4.0, and to enable the country's human capital to be future-ready.

Currently, five PSFs exist:  Supply Chain and Logistics,  Game Development, Digital Art and Animation,  Business Development, and Human Capital Development.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

By the end of the talk, the participant would be able to:

- Comprehend the history, relevance and use of the PSFs

- Understand the principles and processes behind the development of the PSFs

- Identify the parts of the PSFs

- Understand how to use the PSFs

Our Speaker:

Leah A. Macatangay

PIE, MSIE, MAEd, DBA (Candidate)

Leah A. Macatangay is an expert in multiple fields - as an academic, business professional, consultant, and leader, with over thirty years of experience. Her experience as a business professional covers both corporate and individual consulting in project  management, operations management, business process re-engineering, supply chain management, and marketing; and managerial experience in social enterprise and business development operations. Her academic experience spans from being a college and graduate school professor, teaching operations management, strategic management general  management, entrepreneurship, operations research, supply chain management, and business ethics and she has numerous publications and conference proceedings on the same. She has also held various leadership, administrative and management positions including: College Dean for many years, and Academic Director for two and a half years.

At present she is the Learning Director for Thames International/ Entrepreneurs School of Asia where she develops and manages international and local linkages and partnerships. She was also the Project Manager of the Philippine Skills Framework-Supply Chain and Logistics, and a Consultant for the PSF-Game Development, PSF-Digital Art and Animation, and PSF-Human Capital Development.
